What are the BEST baby/toddler items that are must haves and what are the ones that are a waste of money?
I am collecting information from people who actually have children 3 and under currently for a mom's guide I am working on. I have my personal list made all ready of things that were must haves and couldn't live without items and things that are just a gimmick and waste of money that could be done without. I'd like to know what other mom's have found in each category. I'm trying to stay away from the obvious stuff like car seats, highchairs, cribs, clothes, bottles, diaper genie, and no brainer must haves. I'm looking for things that you wouldn't normally think of as being a great find but are.
For the "waste of money/horrible" products that are just useless there are many out there. what was a horrible find item and why.
Please share in two separate lists, one for best and one for worst so I can keep it straight as to what is what when I read replies. I'm looking for serious replies, not stupid answers that are trying to be funny.
My son abosolutely loves his fisher-price jumper-roo! We bought is for him when he was about 5 months old and still uses it today at 8 months. It's nice when you just need some time to get things done around the house, b/c would spend the whole day in it if I let him. Plus it's good exercise!
The little baskets that you put in your dishwasher to wash your nipples and other bottle parts are a must! At first, I spent so much time hand-washing these items, until I discovered this time-saver.
I found a toy at Target (I don't remember the name) that straps across the bar on my son's car seat. It has a frog on it w/ a couple rattles that all spin when batted at, play music, etc. He loved that thing since the day he was born. It kept him occupied while riding in the car and I've felt that it even helped with his motor skills today.
