My 11 month old is terrified of having a bath since he splashed a load of water in his eyes. Now whenever i..
even go near the bath holding him, he freaks out and clings to me. I put him in slowly thinking that he might calm down when he realised that nothing would hurt him but he just shook with fear and i felt like the worst parent in the world.
I've even tried putting him in his baby bath without any water in it and just pouring a small amount on his body but the same thing happened. I'm going to try and actually have a bath with him tomorrow to see if that will help, but to be honest i'm not holding out much hope.
It's such a shame as he used to really love his bathtimes and i used to enjoy our time together playing with his bath toys. Now i can't even distract him with them. Have you got any tips, did your kids go through this?
show him that water is fun.
Play games with water, take him swimming, take him out when it's raining and let him splash in puddles.
Let water be a normal thing and don't show him your worried.
Give it time
