Should I wean my toddler from the bottle?
Im debating on whether or not I should wean my daughter from the bottle. She doesn't have them very often but does have them daily. She has a bottle before she goes to bed and at nap time...thats if she takes a nap too (She drinks organic whole milk). During the day while shes awake she'll drink from her sippy cups or she has a water bottle she drinks from, and never has the bottle during the day (like if shes playing or at breakfast, lunch or dinner).
She doesn't really have any attachments to anything that I would say comforts her except her bottle. Like my sister had a teddy bear when she was little and that was her security blanket.
When my daughter is really tired at night or around nap time the bottle is the only thing that calms her down and I don't want to take her "security blanket" away if thats what makes her feel safe. Shes 21 months old, do I switch to a sippy cup at night, or just eliminate the night time and nap time bottle altogether?
Easiest thing would be to switch to a night time sippy cup, you just need to do it consistently, don't switch back and forth from sippy cup to bottle before bed.
Also I personally don't see any problem with something like a 'security blanket' or a teddy bear, as long as they stay in the bedroom, they out grow them eventually.
