How should I put a satin "lining" on a crocheted baby blanket?
I crocheted a baby blanket (almost all single crochet except the outside edges which are double crocheted. i cross-stitched a design through the single crochet)
and I wanted to put a light green satin lining on the back so that you wouldnt see the ugly side o the cross-stitched design (plus it'd be soooo much cuter. ha)
anybody have any ideas of how to go about doing this?
I bought two yards of light green satin lining and its a 4footx4foot blanket.
advice?
For a 4' by 4' blanket, measure your fabric to 4 feet plus 1/2 inch. Turn under the edge of the fabric 1/4 inch and press it, then turn it under another 1/4 inch and press it. It should now be the size of your crocheted blanket. Carefully slip stitch it closed around the edge. Since 4 feet is rather sizeable, you will also need to make a few stitches in the centre to keep things from shifting. It's not important exactly where, but I would make a few stitches every 3 inches to hold things in place--a cross stitch would work.
