How do I get my two year old to not throw stuff in the baby's crib?
I have a two year old daughter and a seven month old son. They are sharing the same room, and we have no choice otherwise. My daughter LOVES to throw stuff in the crib. I try to give them naps seperately because of this. She went in there during his nap a couple of days ago and threw his juice cup in there. She threw a piece of paper in there from her coloring book one day too, he bit off a piece threw up til he got it out of his mouth. Yes, I helped, but it was still scary. Last night I took all the toys out, laundrey out, everything but her blanket and pillow and teddy bear. Yet sometimes she throws those things in there too. She climbed in there once, but now i keep the side rail up all the time and she hasn't figured out how to do that yet. I'm at an ends here. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
by the way, seperating them isn't an option. We just don't have the room.
Does she have any pretend play baby furniture and toys? I bought my daughter a set of baby things with the crib and stuff to go with it, that way she had her own "baby" to play with. I also agree with getting something to cover the top, and explain to her as best you can the saftey issues with hurting the baby, or giving him small things he may choke on. My daughters are 22 months apart, and it was so hard to keep the older one occupied, while the younger one was entertained and safe, and I know I used to run out of creative ideas..good luck
