Pack n Plays - how to make them more comfortable for sleeping?
My daughter is almost 5 months old and has been sleeping in the bassinet of her Pack n Play (the travel lite model) in our room since birth. She is a few ounces away from the 15 lb. weight limit, and today I did as recommended and removed the bassinet part and moved the sleeping mat down to the bottom.
But the bottom part of the Pack n Play is SO hard with the rods underneath it, even with the sleeping mat on top of it. I even put a couple towels down under the mat to see if I could make it softer, but there is still a hard spot in the middle. I don't want my daughter sleeping on it! It seems so uncomfortable.
Is there something I am missing about it that makes it more comfortable, or is that just the way it is?? Anyone have experience with their baby sleeping in the bottom of it?

Well I'm not quite there yet my son still sleeps in the top portion but I still didn't think that was very comfortable so I got a little foam mattress that fits just perfectly. I think by the time he is too big for the top I will be moving him to his crib. I f you use a blanket or other materials that could smother I recommend putting it under the mattress pad to avoid an accident.
