Has anyone had any problem with Soy Formula?
Hi, I have had to stop breastfeeding recently due to a serious infection with my c section, I had my little one ( three weeks old) on Nestle Good Start Supreme and he seemed okay but his poop turned green and he would have about five dirty (poop) diapers a day. My pediatrician suggested I try a Soy based formula so I researched a little online about it and Ive read some good things and alot of bad things about it as well, I was just wondering if anyone has or is using a soy formula and if your baby did well on it. Thank you !!
I had to stop breastfeeding due to lactosintolerance (well, that's initially what the DR thought it was) so we tried the Soy & she actually stopped pooping. The soy is very hard to digest. Ended up she has milk, soy & gleuten allergies. She can't tolerate rice cereal either. Hopefully you don't end up with our troubles, but I would try LactoFree by Similac. If things don't improve, Evelyn is on Enfamil Nutramigen. It is expensive-$26 per pound-but it ended the colic symptoms, helped regulate her going to the bathroom and she has put on plenty of weight-she is exactly where she should be right now. The Dr should be able to get you some samples and if you have WIC they will help pay for some. Good Luck!
