Does formula give babies BAD gas?
I rarely give my son formula, only sometimes to supplement him, if I am not producing enough breast milk or when I am out for a long period of time. Yesterday I gave my soon 2 4oz bottles of Nestle Good Start Supreme DHA & ARA Natural Cultures, Infant Formula with Iron, Powder , and he usually has gas but all this morning he was crying and just farting up a storm. He could not sleep because of it and it was so LOUD. Usually I just give him gas medicine and he is fine but nothing worked this morning. Does formula cause BAD gas and how long will it take for that bad gas to go away, I fed him his first formula bottle at Sunday 7:30 pm last night and another at 10:30, had hasnt had any formula since then and its Monday 6:10 pm and he is still gassy not as bad from what I can tell but still enough for him to be uncomfortable.
Does breast milk cause equal gas problems or does formula cause more gas. I use special bottles, Playtex VentAire , they dont seem to be reducing gas.
My daughter is on Karicare HA (im assuming its the same as DHA) and has been since about 2 weeks and she has ALWAYS been very gassy and smelly. I asked the health nurse and she said some babies do have that sort of reaction to HA formula but that it was nothing to worry about. But if he is uncomfortable maybe you should try changing his formula or give him colic drops it sounds as if he has a pain in the belly. When my daughter was first born in hospital and had wind the nurses would wrap her in a warm towel (just put it in the dryer) and it would help her bring up her wind and also put her to sleep worked a treat i had never heard of it before but i swear by it now.
