What bottles should I use for a breastfed baby?
I am planning on breastfeeding my baby but at times he will need to be bottle fed. I will be pumping my breast milk with the medela in style advanced pump. The medela bottles attach to the pump and the breast milk goes right into the bottle. I really am not pleased with the medela bottles in comparison to other bottles but I'm not sure if the other bottles will work with the pump. Has anyone used a medela pump and bottles other than the medela bottles? Which bottles did you use for breastfed babies in order to avoid nipple confusion, etc.?
The best thing for avoiding nipple confusion/bottle preference is waiting about 4-6 weeks to introduce a bottle. Once breastfeeding is well established, he'll have a much easier time switching back and forth.

I also have a Medela Pump in Style, and I tried the Medela bottlefeeding nipples, but I found that they leaked really badly, and my son didn't really take to the nipple very well at all. Personally, I would have hoped that Medela would make a more breastfeeding friendly nipple, but they're really small and narrow, as opposed to many breastfeeding friendly nipples, which are larger at the base, more like the breast. If your baby takes to the nipple well, though, and the bottles don't leak for you, then it would be really convenient to be able to use the same bottles for both feeding and pumping. You'll just have to see what works best for him.
I'm still a big fan of Medela pumps, though. The Pump in Style is a great pump.
