pillows in baby's crib?
Ok so I have researched it and everything I have read every book every internet site says no pillows in the baby's crib. My mother in law is fighting with me saying yes you put a pillow with the baby. I am getting pissed off and upset. I don't want my baby to suffocate from a pillow. All things I have read say it raises the risk of infant death syndrome. Input please. I am asking my hospital and doctor and childbirth teacher about this because it has me so worked up.
she says a pillow is necessary if baby spits up or throws up. I made a changing pad the other day and she told me that is the size of the pillow she wants to make for my baby. I told her NO pillows in my baby's bed. Hello I am flipping out this is as big as an adult pillow.

we as a society are more educated and knowledgeable than we once were
Do not let her upset you
just keep telling yourself, "she can't help her ignorance,"
"its not her fault that her facts are out dated"
and do things your way
do NOT sacrifice your child's safety for the benefit of your mother in law
she may feel hurt or angry that you didn't listen to her but think about this:
How would she feel knowing her grandchild DIED of suffocation because she insisted on a pillow, dispite what the American Association of Pediatrics reccommends.
