Glider Recliner Rocker
Creating a Cozy Nursing Corner?
Do you have a cozy nursing/feeding spot in your living room/nursery? If so what is itthat makes it cozy, inviting, and comfortable for you and baby? What kind of chair/rocker/glider/recliner would you reccommend?
If you could go back and do things again would be be a must for your Feeding/Nursing spot?
i.e comfy chair, lamp, table, snacks etc.
Aside from the normal stuff (chairs, boppy, etc) here's a list of stuff I wish I'd known beforehand:
Water. Water, water, juice, water, water, juice, nibblies, water.
Did I mention making sure you never sit down without something to drink? Some people get hungry, but maaaaaaaaan! There is no thirst like the thirst I feel when my milk lets down!!!!! I feel like I would be willing to jump a second grader and mug them for their juice box if I forget my cup full of water when I nurse 
Have a book or a tv, or a magazine, or SOMETHING handy. Yeah, when you're pregnant you imagine that every moment nursing will be a bonding experience... but when they are four months old and going through a growth spurt and needing to nurse every hour.... or you have a friends over playing a board game and you have to get up for the bazillionth time to leave all the laughter behind and shut yourself up (if you are confident enough to nurse in public you avoid this! I never was, unfortunately)... well, having something you look forward to is kind of nice. I kept my laptop by my nursing spot and played something from Hulu.com--- an old Grey's Anatomy or House episode, etc. It's not cheating to be amused and entertained while nursing. Plus, you may not always be nursing--- you could also be pumping... and there is nothing more boring than pumping! Yet it's a necessary, time-consuming evil.
A stand to set your book/laptop/magazine on (make sure an electrical outlet is nearby when choosing your corner, so you can plug in your pump or lamp, or whatever.)
In fact, make that stand a heavy-duty stand, because if you rock/nurse your baby to sleep, and are trying to stand up without waking them up, being able to push up off of something is MUCH better than lurching to your feet. it's also very helpful post giving birth, especially if you had a c-section.
I liked nursing on a loveseat, myself, cuz then i could drag the hubby in with me so I didn't feel alone, have to quit the conversation. Whatever you choose to nurse on, practice getting up out of it with no hands. If it's comfortable, but low to the ground and impossible to escape, it's not much good.
As far as simple, practical items--- box of kleenex, nursing pads, lanolin for the sore nipples, burp rags for spit up, and the oh-so-necessary blanket to throw over your exposed chest, since you can pretty much guarantee that the second you whip those puppies out of your nursing bra, it will become Grand Central Station in there!
