How much formula should my 2 1/2 week old infant drink at each feeding?
My 2 1/2 week old 10 lb. baby girl usually drinks from 2 1/2 -3 oz. each feeding, but last night she drank 4 oz. before bed and once during the night. Is this normal? I don't want my baby to be overfed, but I thought she was getting enough with the 3 oz. I'm a new mom and still trying to figure her out.
If shes hungry feed her. She will go up in oz as she gets bigger as well as when she has a growth spurt. Our son was taking 4oz as soon as he was on formula at a week old.
You cannot overfeed her if you gave her too much she would bring it back up. She knows how much she needs and if its what she needs then it perfectly fine.
