Products to improve baby eczema?
My daughter is 9 months old and has had eczema since she was about 5 months old. It started behind her ears and went to her legs and now her arms and back. Today it seemed a lot worse. Huge patches all down both of her arms. At her 9 month check up the doctor gave her a tube of cream- it works great but we are already all out in 2 weeks! He's like "you're just going to have to find something that works with her skin!". We have been using Johnson and Johnson's Bedtime Bath, Johnson and Johnson's Shea and Coco Butter and Grins n' Giggles wash and lotions. Nothing seems to help at all! I need to find something to help her skin. Do you have any recommendations? The eczema is getting pretty bad and looks a bit painful.
I bathe her everyday- mostly for the routine. Could the water make her skin worse? Sometimes I just bathe her in water- no products
Our son has sever eczema as well. He only gets a bath every 3-4 days. The instant he gets in the tub his poor skin starts turing red so to answer you question yes. Baths do make it worse.
Your doctor is right though about finding what works for her. I can't even tell you how many times it took to find the right one for him. Here is what we did. We finally settled on Lansinoh nipple Cream (Yes you read that right) on his face in the evenings. It's very greasy! Then during the day at each bottle I put some Aveeno severe dry skin lotion on his face. We've been doing this for a couple months now and it works perfect for him! We also use Aveeno sensitive skin baby wash for bath time.
I hope you can find something that works.
