Gerber Nuk w/ Handles Hazard?
Two nights ago, my 8 month old son managed to get his nuk pacifier stuck in his mouth. His mouth got all torn up. It was a horrible experience. He is at the age that he is putting his nuk in and out on his own and while he was sleeping, he took his nuk, and put it in his mouth backwards with the handle in his mouth and he turned it sideways so it got stuck in his mouth. Everytime he cried, it jammed the top of his mouth harder. His mouth was all torn up inside and he and I were both scared to death! I am wondering if anyone else has had problems with these nuks?
I called the company and told them and they say that babies should not be put to bed with a nuk, does anyone out there know that? I didn't and all my friends with babies did not either. I think that is something that should be put on the package!! I just wanted to let everyone know with babies that those nuks with handles are unsafe and to opt for the button nuks, not the handle ones!!
Wow I have never heard of that and am amazed the little guy could do it! Pacifiers ares upposed to be designed to NOT fit in the mouth and the nuks with 'handles' are actually quite bigger than most paci's, (liek Mams) and Im really surprised he did that. I would certainly again alert the company and see if any other warnings have been issued. I dont think they are unsafe in general tho, I think your little man is just VERY gifted with gettings tuff in his mouth! Keep a close eye on him! Also, make sure u are using pacifiers the right age. The nuks have ages on them and if u are using one thats too small, I could see how he'd get it in his mouth.
Make sure to get one in the 'sitter' category, 8 mos and up.
