Has anyone gone from Enfamil Prosobee to Gentlease?
I have an 8 week infant who was originally on Enfamil Lipil w/ Iron but is now on Prosobee per his doctor. When he was on the regular Enfamil, he was fussy and refused to drink after an ounce or two. His doctor then told us to switch to Prosobee, which we did, and he did well on it for three days. However, he is now again exhibiting the same symtoms of fussiness during feedings as he was when he was on the original Enfamil. We were wondering if we should switch him to Gentlease. I don't believe he has a milk allergy or is that lactose intolerant, because he was on the original Enfamil Lipil for about a month and was doing fine. So my questions is, has anyone gone from Prosobee to Gentlease and how did their baby do? Thanks.
Our first month we spent trying to get him regulated on any type of Enfamil. My doctor insisted that it was the best and we needed to keep him on that brand. We ended up switching doctors and brands. My son was gassy, consitpated and extremely fussy on Enfamil. My doctor said he was just a colicky baby but as soon as we switched to Nestle's Good Start his mood changed dramatically. He wasn't cranky at all anymore. Still had some gas and constipation so we swiched to Nestle's Soy. We got rid of a lot of the gas, and the consitpation got the best it ever had been.
I was getting coupons from Enfamil for about $7 off each time so we ended up trying to switch to the Prosobee. It was the only Enfamil product we hadn't tried and everyone said switching to Soy is usually does the trick... so we tried it. He screamed for two days....really bad.
We switched back to Nestle's Soy and he's great! If he gets constipated our new doctor has us giving him a little diluted apple juice or a couple onces of pedialite. Does the trick!
