Using bumper pads in a crib?
Ok, so since these pads can pose a risk for the baby-shoud I even bother with them? I was thinking about buying my own material and making a nice quilt for the bed--and then finding a solid colored skirt--what do you think? Should I do that or go ahead and buy a full crib set with the bumper included. Did you use the bumper in your baby's bed?
Don't waste your money on expensive, decorative crib sets. The only thing a new baby needs is a fitted sheet, sleep gown, and positioner. Pads were used to keep baby from bumping there heads, but no baby has died from bumping there head on the side of a crib! But many have from climbing on top of the bumper and falling out of it! Get breathable bumpers, they have them at Wal-Mart, Babies R Us, and Target online, and other places. They are thin so baby can breathe if up against it, they are unable to be climbed, and cover space between bars so legs and arms won't get stuck!
