transitioning baby from bassinet to crib?
My little girl is 3 months old now and I'm getting ready to switch her from her bassinet to her crib. Shes a good sleeper and has been sleeping through the night for quite some time now "knock on wood" lol anyway im worried that switching her may be a bit of a shock to her, i think she will enjoy it but im hesitant because im nervous she really may not...anyone have any good tips on how to go about doing this?
ALSO ive read in books that when you tuck a baby in to bed youre supposed to like tuck the comforter down into the sides of the crib so it doesnt come up over the babies face? i asked my mother about this and she actually yelled at me and said that you cant do that bc if the baby slides down under the comforter then they could suffocate that way also! im confused what do you think?

Try her in the crib during a day time nap. That way if she doesn't like it, you aren't losing sleep over it during the night and can just put her back in the bassinet to try again at another time. I didn't have any trouble with my babies --- except as a mom i was saddened that they were 'growing up' lol
Blankets are not recommended for babies under the age of one by The American Academy of Pediatrics. The main concern is suffocation. Also, SIDS has been attributed to it as well.
You'll also see as your little one gets older that she probably won't keep a blanket due to rolling around, sitting up, crawling around and moving about during the night. They don't know enough to put it back on, nor how to avoid getting trapped under it.
My babies each have a ceramic heater in their room that has a built in thermostat. I set the room to a few degrees above room temperature that way when their body heat drops during their sleep, they are nice and warm. They each wear a onesie and a sleeper with built in feet, or socks if they don't.
