Cloth nappy/diaper users...?
My 9 month old has shown sensitivity to nappy washing detergent (I usually use Napisan), and has eczema-related rashes when I use it. Is it ok just to wash in normal detergent? She is fine with all her normal clothes. What would be the difference?
I have tried several products specifically for washing nappies but her skin reacts to all of them.
mummy berry - I tried that, but it still set her off. I think i'll have a go at stripping them and washing in my normal stuff.
If she is ok with whatever her clothes and sheets get washed in then use that to soak & wash the cloth nappies.
The wee nappies shouldn't need soaking anyway, just a good hot wash with detergent and an extra rinse cycle. Line dry too.
The poo ones will need a thorough rinse before washing and again, check on the box of washing powder for directions to use it as a soaking agent. Most of them can be used to soak with, its just Napisan is made specifically to whiten and sanitise clothes/nappies.
Whatever is used to whiten stuff with the Napisan could be the difference to what is in the regular washing powder.
Also you could try a more homemade remedy like vinegar?bleach? to clean and whiten the nappies
