9 month old will only crawl on the bed, not on the floor.....?
My 9 month old son will crawl all over the bed in the morning and at night before his bath (more like the army crawl, but he can get from one end to the other and back.) But during the day when he is downstairs in the living room playing with his toys he will NOT crawl at all. If he gets on his tummy, he will just go around in a circle. Lately he is starting to get up on all fours and rock back and forth, but again, only in the crib or on our bed. Do you think the carpet is too hard on his knees? Can I do anything to encourage him? Please help??!!??

The floor might be uncomfortable for him. Make sure he is wearing pants that cover his knees so they don't get rug burn.
Aside from that, don't worry about it too much. Babies crawl when they are ready. Rocking is a good sign that crawling isn't far off.
