I want to do my master bedroom in brown and blue. My bedding is dark brown with blue damask print.?
My husband and I are thinking of doing the walls chocolate as well. Our bedroom is 20x13. I am painting the closet doors white as well as the trim. Our dresser set is white. The debate is whether we paint all walls dark or just the wall the bed. I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions? BTW, there are two nice windows in the room providing a lot of light too.
Chocolate could be very nice but not my first choice! Milk chocolate or dark chocolate? Does the damask have a tan mixed in? If so, you could use that on the walls instead of going very dark. An average bedroom can range from 12 x 12 to 13x 14 so yours is somewhat larger. It is a matter of personal preference as to how you want to feel. You have a lot of light and if you like the formality and coziness of dark walls, then go for it. You will be accenting your furniture as well as the closet doors. The other option would be to use the relaxing blue in a deep shade, pulling from your bedding.
If you decided to paint just the wall behind your bed brown, you don't mention what your choice would be for the other three. Brown with what? Would it be blue? It shouldn't be a high contrast blue or white for that matter. What is going on with your floor? Try for a medium shade on your walls.
