Baby Table Top
How do I know my baby is getting enough to eat?
Im just starting her on table foods. She'll be 10 months tomorrow. I am also trying to give her a jar of fruit and a jar of vegetables of baby food {stage 3} on top of the table food she is eating. I was just wondering whts the recommended amount of every food group that she should be getting for her age?? Thanks for the help~
thanks a bunch~ she's drinking about 30oz of formula a day so I guess Im doing fine with how she's eating right now.
Every child is different. It depends on activity, growth spurts, weight, etc. I know that doesn't help, with my first I wanted a clear guideline too... just remember that the majority of her calories should still be coming from milk/formula (my pediatrician said *at least* 20oz. until 1 year). As long as you're offering nutritious table foods (not sugary snacks or fried foods), just let her eat as much as she wants and when she starts playing with the food or getting distracted, stop.
edit: jarred foods aren't necessary, but unless you're steaming and mashing your own vegetables and serving soft fruit with every meal, it's a good idea to make sure your baby is getting them!
