how much sun light should my baby's room get?
I am picking shades for my babys room. We are trying to decide on black out or not. I think it will be nice if the room got dark in the day so he can nap. But, my husband feels that the sun light is better for the baby. Anyone have any ideas?
would you want blackout curtains in YOUR room? You don't need to do it for baby's. They'll learn to sleep in the noise and light. A tired child will sleep in the middle of a concert. I've never taken a baby to one, mind you, but I've been in some pretty darn noisy environments and oculdn't believe how well my boys would sleep. In fact, they almost slept better in noisy, bright environments.
So, get curtains you like, that give you shade when you want it, but I say let the sunshine in. Sunlight is so good for you, don't black it out. Unless it's shining right in her face, the baby honestly won't notice.
So, I'm with your husband on this one. Sunshine is GOOD. Oh, also, if your baby ends up having jaundice, the sun light will help heal it. My first was born a tad jaundiced, and that's what I had to do, follow the sun around the house and let him fall asleep in it. He didn't mind a single bit.
