Are there any baby gates (pet gates maybe) that can block off an 8' area?
I have been looking and I don't really want to wall mount anything in my living room. My baby is almost 1 year old and I'd like to have something that I can easily take down and reposition depending where I'd like him to play. Any clues?
I've never seen a pressure mounted gate that can span that large an area. This one: http://www.safebeginnings.com/WebComponents/Catalog/Public/showproduct.asp?id=385&cat=Childproofing has extensions which allow it to go up to a little over 6 feet. And this one: http://www.safebeginnings.com/WebComponents/Catalog/Public/showproduct.asp?id=216&cat=Childproofing goes up to 5 feet. We have this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8457890 and I have used it to portion off areas of the house before, but it does not secure like a gate so you either have to tuck it behind things (I've used the couch) or accept that your child may move it and get around it.
