How long does your baby stay in the nursery at the hospital?
I'm also wondering how long your baby stays in the Hospital Nursery after delivery? Do they give him to you first for a few minutes? Do they take him straight away and bring them to you after he's been examined? Will they allow him to sleep in the same room with you in a cradle or something they have next to the bed? When they TAKE him to the nursery how LONG is he in there?
With all 3 of my kids they were with us from the second they were born.
We had a choice of letting our baby go to the nursery or stay with us. We kept them with us.
My husband went everywhere with the baby. My 1st was born only 4pds & 11oz. She was healthy though and was kicked out of the baby ICU. lol But she did need blood test a lot to make sure she was ok. My husband went with her each time. But never for a second was she out of his sight.
My 2nd went right from me to nursing. It was wonderful. She was never out of my sight for a moment.
My 3rd son was away from us for just 1hr. Way too long for me! He had trouble keeping his temp. normal and they put him under a heat lamp for a bit and that helped. But I hated it him being gone.
From what I know most hospitals give you a choice. It is up to your. My sister in laws both put their babies in the nursery at night so they could sleep. We never did though. I wanted the baby with me at all times.
It's up to you.
