How do I get that perfect black background?
I ordered a black "muslin" cloth off eBay but to be honest I can see right thru it. It's 10 x 20 so I double it up. I only use Natural light so am I able to get the cool photos of babies? Or does this process include further technique that Im just not aware of?
All you have to do is control the light behind it.
eBay is not known for selling only high quality things and so you can pretty much guess you will get what you pay for.

My guess is your background cost less than that
* Place the background against a plan smooth wall
* Make sure there is no light falling on the black background. You may need "flags" to do this.
* Make sure you model or object is at least three feet from the background to prevent shadows
* Shoot with ONLY your key, fill and other lights you are using to light your subject. Turn off all other lights
