Would buying a baby carrier for a newborn be a bad thing?
I'm think about how attached my daughter was. Being attached is great, but being attached 'to the hip' is a pain. I can see getting one when the baby gets bigger, but should I buy one for a newborn. The sling idea?
I´ve heard nothing but positive things about baby wearing and experienced first hand on a trans atlantic flight seated next to a lady and her baby in a sling.. The kid did not cry at all the entire trip because of the sling which she said was quite typical behavior.
Just be careful if you go with a sling to make sure it fits properly and doesn´t hurt your back or shoulders. I heard that the wraps are good since they better distribute the weight but the Moby wrap is one big piece of fabric so you have to learn how to put it on.
Baby Bjorns are also supposed to be good but pricey so shop around or find one 2nd hand.
