What do you do when your baby gets on your nerves?
My daughter is usually a very good baby. Some days are just terrible though. She starts by waking me up at 7 am with several screams. She's 9 months old. She will keep screaming through the day, refusing solids, filling up on her bottle and keep crying for more. She will make a mess with any finger food I give her (turn the dish upside down or throw it!) and crawl around until she gets into the shoes (she sucks on them) or our decorations/ furniture. Sometimes it's too much for me to handle and I feel like I need a break! The headaches she gives me are just unbearable, there's no calming her down. Sometimes she just needs a nap, I realize that, but could she possibly be teething? She's inconsolable and does not give up!
Sounds like you need a break. She's not doing anything any other baby doesn't do (except for maybe the shoe thing which I strongly urge you not to let her do. Do you know how dirty and germ infested shoes are? YUCK). If she normally eats solids and she's not all the sudden, sucking on her fingers and toys and really fussy she very well could be teething. Give her some Tylenol and a teething ring.
And remember she can sense your frustration. If you are tensing up and getting upset with her, she will get upset too. Teething is painful for babes so try to understand she's in pain and console her the best you can. Sometimes babies fuss and there's nothing you can do about it. It's all a part of being a parent.
In a few short years she is going to have an opinion of her own and will be sassing you! Then you will be wishing she would just fuss about things! LOL
