Breastfeeding Q. My right breast doesnt react to my manual breast pump. I've been nursing for 7 months now.
I've been on this for 7 months, and pretty much since the first time i used it my right breast was just useless. My left is a saver. I think it might even make up for the useless one. lol. Even my daughter reacts to it when shes nursing. She'll nurse off the right breast for about 5-6 minutes and just get angry and as soon as i put her on my left one , shes happy as ever. Is this normal? anything i can do to change it? I drink lots of fluid, mostly water, I eat right. Thanks a lot in advance.
That's pretty normal. Most women find that one breast will produce more milk than the other, and extra stimulation of course will result in higher milk production. If you want to try and even it up, then always introduce your right breast to your baby first, feed her until she gets cranky then swap breasts, and then offer it to her again after she's finished the left side. The more you stimulate that side, the more opportunity you are giving it to produce more milk.
