Two questions...what would you do?
First question: If you work as a full time mom, and have a babysitter, you pay her by the week. You have two day offs coming (separate), but you still have to pay for the babysitter for that day off, regardless if your baby is there or not...would you leave them there for a day and get things done, would you let the babysitter have her for a half a day, or would you spend the whole day with your baby?
Second question: I am a single mom and live with my parents, we have hardwood floors, and I wanna buy something for the living room so she can have something for tummy time and crawling, since I use a yoga mat which is so small. Because I live with my parents, they dont want an area rug, or the ABC mats...what else could I use?
I would probably use the sitter for 1/2 if not the whole day for one of the days. that way you will not have a rush on all you need to get done, and you could have a little "me" time. Go to the mall, or just relax lol. I dont think it is selfish or something to feel bad about because you are a great mom and all moms need a little personal time. Then you will have the whole next day to spend with her and will feel all recharged and accomplished.
I too have wood flooring in the majority of the house. What i do is use a thicker, soft blanket and lay it on the floor. I actually have dedicated one to just tummy time. It can help to not have your favorite soft blanket all spit up or drooled on. I fold it in half for more padding and lay it on the floor and place my son on it. It also makes for easy pick up and storage.
